It's August Already?

I cannot believe that it's August 1st already! What the heck?!? Our summer has been so busy with sports, vacations, camps and fun trips that we have not a single free weekend to just lay around and do nothing...but who does, right?!? I would like to know who coined the phrase —'lazy dog days of summer'— because I sure have not had a lazy day yet. That's okay, though...I love my life right now and I know that it's not going to last forever, so I'm going to enjoy my life as much as I can and maybe in about 20 years, I'll experience one of those lazy dog days!!
